Shape the Future of Nuclear Decommissioning

We are seeking an experienced Package Manager - Logistics Engineering to join the JDR programme at Culham, supporting complex decommissioning projects within a highly regulated nuclear environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics engineering or logistics planning professional who can combine strong technical planning capability with practical worksite experience, helping to develop safe, efficient and deliverable logistics solutions from the earliest stages of a project through to mobilisation, execution and close-out.
As the key Logistics Engineering point of contact for assigned worksites, you will work closely with Project Managers, Worksite Managers, Design Teams, Waste Teams, Health Physics and specialist engineering teams to identify logistics requirements, constraints, interfaces and opportunities.
You will play a key role in ensuring logistics considerations are properly integrated into project design, planning and delivery - from access and routing through to material movements, handling, storage, inventory and waste.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional Logistics Engineering advice and support relating to the movement of materials, equipment and waste.
  • Undertake site visits, worksite walkdowns and investigations to identify access, routing, handling, storage, movement and operational constraints.
  • Act as the primary Logistics Engineering point of contact for assigned projects and worksites.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate logistics engineering activities in line with project schedules, milestones and programme objectives.
  • Establish, maintain and quality-assure worksite inventories, ensuring accurate and traceable logistics and hazard information.
  • Develop and maintain key logistics documentation, including:
    • Worksite Logistics Plans
    • Inventory Reports
    • Vehicle Movement Reports
    • Routing Diagrams
    • Throughput Calculations
    • Specialist Equipment Reports
    • Storyboards and supporting technical assessments
  • Develop safe and efficient transport routes and movement strategies for materials, equipment and waste.
  • Identify logistics resources, specialist equipment and lead-time requirements ahead of mobilisation.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, suppliers, logistics partners and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Support the development of Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and Construction Phase Plans (CPP).
  • Provide effective handover of logistics arrangements, inventory, constraints, planned movements and outstanding actions into mobilisation and execution.
  • Provide ongoing technical support during delivery, maintaining continuity between logistics planning and site execution.
  • Monitor logistics progress, identifying risks, constraints, interfaces and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support project close-out, including reconciliation of inventory, logistics records, equipment and outstanding actions.
  • Contribute to the development of logistics processes, systems, KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Developing logistics strategies and technical plans to support project delivery.
  • Inventory management, data quality and traceability.
  • Working across multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
  • Producing technical reports, assessments and planning documentation.
  • Integrating logistics requirements into engineering design and project planning.
  • Working within structured, regulated or safety-critical environments.
  • Using digital inventory, logistics, asset management or similar systems.

A relevant technical, engineering, logistics or vocational qualification/apprenticeship is desirable, although demonstrable equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
