Job Description:

Sir Robert McAlpine has secured a prestigious contract to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase of the project includes the design and construction of a new 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, ancillary buildings, and site-wide external works.

This Package Manager role will be responsible for managing work packages within the Structure and Envelop team as part of our £800m project.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will oversee trade-contractor packages within the Structures team, leading engineers and subcontractors to deliver the project safely and to high standards.

We seek someone who:

• Takes ownership of their package, ensuring all works are well-planned, safe, and the site within their area is clean and organized.
• Possesses a 'boots on the ground' mentality to promote safety leadership and ensure works are executed safely and as planned.
• Plans and manages logistical requirements, liaising with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
• Prepares short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerate works or address issues, ensuring timely delivery.
• Monitors progress and performance, analyzing trends and reporting on programme implications.
• Collaborates with infrastructure team members, considering the 'big picture'.
• Ensures technical compliance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Reviews and approves Inspection and Test Plans.
• Conducts quality inspections using FieldView.
• Manages technical submittals and RFIs within their scope.
• Ensures scope and subcontract requirements are met, understanding SRM obligations.
• Records key activities and promotes the SRM Build Sure culture.

Your profile:

• Strong leadership skills
• Experience delivering multi-million-pound building projects
• Experience in planning, coordinating, and executing structural steelwork and façade systems
• Proven ability to develop procurement strategies and work with suppliers for high-quality materials
• Experience managing interface between façade systems and structural steel
• Logistics coordination for steel delivery, storage, and installation
• Effective communication with clients, ensuring their requirements are met
• Knowledge of building clean and dry rooms on large industrial projects
• Experience in industrial MEP fit-out
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and managing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
• Good knowledge of building products, construction details, and standards
• Familiarity with construction software such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is preferred
