Sir Robert McAlpine has secured a prestigious contract to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase of the project includes the design and construction of a new 15GWh lithium-ion battery facility, ancillary buildings, and site-wide external works.

This Package Manager role will be responsible for managing work packages within the Structure and Envelop team as part of our £800m project.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing trade-contractor packages within the Structures team, leading a team of engineers and subcontractors to deliver the project to the highest standards of safety and performance.

We are looking for someone who:

• Takes ownership of their package and ensures all works are planned, safe, and the site within their package area is clean and organized.
• Has a ‘boots on the ground' mentality to promote safety leadership and ensure all works are carried out safely and as planned.
• Plans and oversees all logistical requirements within their package, liaising with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
• Produces short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerate works or mitigate issues to ensure on-time delivery in line with the programme.
• Monitors progress and performance, comparing planned versus actual metrics, understanding trends, and reporting implications to the Project Manager and package planner.
• Collaborates with other infrastructure team members and considers the ‘big picture'.
• Responsible for the technical aspects and compliance of the package with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Reviews and approves Inspection and Test Plans.
• Conducts and records quality inspections using FieldView.
• Manages technical submittals and RFIs within their scope.
• Ensures the package meets scope and subcontract requirements, understanding SRMs obligations.
• Records key events and activities.
• Promotes and encourages the SRM Build Sure culture.

Your profile:

• Strong leadership skills.
• Experience delivering multi-million-pound building projects.
• Experience overseeing structural steelwork and façade systems planning, coordination, and execution.
• Led procurement strategies, ensuring timely sourcing of high-quality materials and working with suppliers to maintain design integrity.
• Experience managing interface between façade systems and structural steel, ensuring seamless integration.
• Coordinated logistics for steel delivery, storage, and installation to minimize delays and overruns.
• Maintained regular communication with clients, ensuring their requirements are met and transparency maintained.

Knowledge and experience in building clean and dry rooms on large-scale industrial projects, and industrial MEP fitout experience.

• Experience with NEC contracts and managing Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events.
• Good knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant regulations and standards.
• Familiarity with construction software such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is desirable.
