Job description

Part-time Personal Assistant - £17ph plus holiday pay – London

Start ASAP for three months initially

Working pattern:

  • Mondays: 1pm – 5pm
  • Fridays: 10am – 12pm

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative Support Assistant to provide general administrative support to a Data Scientist. The role involves tasks such as minute taking, proofreading documents, calendar management, and ad hoc project coordination. The successful candidate will support the Data Scientist's daily activities and help ensure efficient project execution.

  • Attend scheduled Zoom meetings to take comprehensive notes, ensuring accurate documentation of discussions.
  • Proofread emails and documents prepared by the Data Scientist, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Assist in planning, updating calendars, and informing colleagues about project timelines and estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Data Scientist to plan around health-related issues, managing projects around treatment, side effects, and time off.
  • Coordinate and prepare for 1-1 meetings with the line manager, appraisals, and other meetings.
  • Encourage the Data Scientist to complete tasks using various task management apps.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Previous experience in administrative support roles, preferably in research or scientific environments.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to take accurate notes and proofread effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving and project coordination skills, adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Sensitivity and discretion when planning around health issues, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms, along with basic knowledge of office software and task management apps.
