HFG is currently recruiting for a leading P&I Club seeking an Underwriter to join their growing team.

My client is looking for 3-5+ years of experience, ideally from a P&I Club, with the successful candidate joining their Offshore Syndicate. They prioritize succession planning and internal promotion, making this a great opportunity for career development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assess risks accurately according to the underwriting guidelines outlined in the Underwriting Procedures Manual.
2. Follow the Underwriting Procedures Manual and all related processes strictly.
3. Maintain high service levels for Members and brokers by promptly issuing documentation.
4. Build and sustain relationships with Members and Brokers to expand the portfolio for the Club's mutual benefit.
5. Identify and attract new business opportunities for the benefit of the Association.
6. Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, addressing issues promptly.
7. Ensure all outstanding premiums are paid before renewals are bound, in collaboration with the finance team.
8. Approve and ensure the correct issuance of blue cards.
9. Share knowledge and experience within the Underwriting team.
10. Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
11. Conduct sanctions screening on Members, other parties, and vessels, resolving hits before binding cover or processing MTA's.
