HFG are currently recruiting for a leading P&I Club who are seeking an Underwriter to join their growing team.

My client is looking for 3-5+ years experience, ideally from a P&I Club and the successful candidate will be joining their Offshore Syndicate. They are very high on succession planning and like to promote from within so is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess risks accurately as per the underwriting guidelines outlined in the Underwriting Procedures Manual.
• Strictly follow the Underwriting Procedures Manual and all associated processes.
• Maintain high levels of service for Members and brokers by promptly and accurately issuing documentation.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with Members and Brokers to enhance and expand the portfolio for the Club's mutual benefit.
• Identify, attract, and foster new business opportunities for the benefit of the Association.
• Continuously monitor and analyze the portfolio's performance, addressing any areas of concern promptly.
• Ensure all outstanding premiums are paid before renewals are bound, in collaboration with the finance team.
• Responsible for approving and ensuring the correct issuance of blue cards.
• Share knowledge, information, and experience within the Underwriting team.
• Enhance skills and knowledge necessary for the role by actively participating in training and development activities.
• Conduct sanctions screening on Members, other parties, and vessels, resolving any hits before binding cover or processing MTA's.
