Overview

As a P&I Claims Director or Senior Claims Executive, you will manage high-volume and complex P&I claims, ensuring efficient resolution in line with policies. You will foster relationships with Members and brokers, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with teams such as FD&D, Underwriting, and Loss Prevention. The role involves supporting business development, improving claims processes, and building an inclusive, high-performing team while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume, complex P&I claims efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Handle Member inquiries related to geopolitical and industry issues.
• Manage third-party service providers like lawyers and surveyors.
• Build strong relationships with Members and brokers, providing excellent service.
• Mentor and supervise colleagues in the Claims team.
• Collaborate with other teams on claims handling and risk management.
• Prepare reports and updates for management.
• Assist with audits and process improvements.
• Support business development and networking activities.
• Foster an inclusive team environment and ensure workload management.
• Adhere to company policies and contribute to claims initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Requirements include:

• Marine or Law Degree (preferably shipping law) or seagoing experience or claims handling experience in a P&I club/shipping company.
• Understanding of P&I claims and industry.
• Knowledge of P&I Rules and Claims Procedures.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle cases efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Willingness to work out of hours and travel.
