Job summary

Candl Recruitment Ltd in South East London is recruiting an Academic Tutor and UCAS/Oxbridge Coach for a high-achieving secondary school. You will mentor students across Years 11 to 13, guiding UCAS and Oxbridge applications, personal statements and interview preparation.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree from Oxford or Cambridge University.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong academic ability.
• Confidence working with ambitious and high-achieving students.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Genuine interest in education and widening access.
• Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students with UCAS applications.
• Provide guidance on personal statements.
• Help prepare students for Oxbridge interviews.
• Support preparation for relevant university entrance assessments.
• Deliver academic mentoring and tutoring.
• Help students develop confidence, independence and strong study habits.
• Support wider enrichment and university-access programmes.
• Work with staff to identify and develop high-potential students.
• Contribute to EPQ and wider academic initiatives where required.
