Job summary

GI Group Main Account is seeking UK-based freelance Telephone Interpreters for remote, self-employed work. You will provide real-time, two-way telephone interpretation in English and a second language, via a dedicated app, supporting NHS and public sector clients from home.

Ideal candidates have professional interpreting experience, DBS check, and eligibility to work as self-employed in the UK. Flexible freelance schedule and competitive rates offered.

Qualifications

• Professional spoken interpreting experience (essential).
• Fluent English + a second language (native/near-native).
• Based in the UK and eligible to work self-employed/freelance.
• Strong understanding of cultural context and terminology.
• Community Interpreting Level 3+ desirable (not essential).
• Enhanced DBS with child barring check: must already hold or be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time, two-way telephone interpreting (English + second language) for live conversations over audio calls.
• Answer interpreting requests via an app and interpret live conversations accurately and professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection expectations.
