Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community-based overnight service across west Fife within a 25 miles radius from your home.

In this vital role, you will work in patients' homes providing compassionate, person-centred care during the night, supporting families and liaising with the out-of-hours clinical service. This permanent part-time role offers 27 hours per week, 10pm to 7am across 7 days, with benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 2 if not already achieved.

Responsibilities

• Access visit schedules and patient details via the electronic tablet system at the start of each shift.
• Provide overnight care in patients' homes with dignity and professionalism.
• Document care and observations in the patient’s electronic records.
• Escalate concerns to out-of-hours service promptly.
• Deliver post-mortem care and preparation of the body as required.
