Job summary
Marie Curie is seeking an Overnight Healthcare Assistant to provide one-to-one end-of-life care in patients' homes across West Cornwall. The role is permanent, part-time (18, 27 or 36 hours) with night shifts from 22:00 to 07:00, and a pro rata salary up to £35,633.52 per year plus enhancements.
You will work within ~25 miles of your home, joined by a multidisciplinary team, following care plans and reporting changes as needed. A signing-on bonus of £750 is payable after 6 months of service.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- At least six months' experience delivering care in a health or social care setting.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach.
- Experience or knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in patients' homes.
- Support comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the night.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
- Follow personalised care plans and work closely with the wider clinical team.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients and those important to them.
