Job summary

NHSGGC is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse for the Out of Hours Overnight Service as a Band 5 Community Staff Nurse. The role supports the District Nursing Service, delivering person-centred care in community settings and working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.

The post involves risk assessments, clinical record keeping, and contribution to a responsive 24-hour nursing service, with supervision of staff and students and involvement in induction and preceptorship

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Part 1 NMC Registration (or 2nd Level Registration)
• Significant post-registration nursing experience
• Evidence of CPD and NMC Revalidation
• Knowledge of community nursing practice and patient-centred care
• IT skills including word processing, email and internet use
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing demands
• Experience of risk assessment and clinical record keeping
• Commitment to supporting students and colleagues' development
• Ability to respond to emergencies including basic life support

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care programmes under the District Nurse
• Provide skilled nursing interventions in a community setting
• Support management of delegated caseload activity
• Contribute to 24-hour nursing service delivery
• Maintain accurate clinical records and support health promotion
• Participate in audits, quality improvement, and research
• Provide clinical leadership and supervise junior staff and students
• Participate in induction and preceptorship programmes
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams
