Home Instead Edgbaston Birmingham is seeking Night Care Professionals to provide high-quality overnight care, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being for clients. You will work night shifts, perform personal care, monitor health, and document care activities.

Role requires empathy, reliability, excellent communication, and ability to work independently with professional standards. Training and ongoing support are provided to maintain best practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in care work, healthcare, or a related support role.
• Empathy and genuine compassion for vulnerable individuals.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work reliably on night shifts and maintain consistent attendance.
• Physical stamina for assisting with mobility and personal care.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and safeguarding principles.
• Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity.
• First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience with care documentation systems and record-keeping.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
• Team collaboration and willingness to communicate with colleagues.
• Understanding of duty of care and professional boundaries in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care and support to clients during night shifts, including assistance with activities of daily living.
• Monitor clients' health status and report any changes or concerns to the day care team and management.
• Maintain accurate and detailed care documentation and records in accordance with organizational protocols.
• Respond promptly and compassionately to client requests and emergencies.
• Ensure clients' safety and security throughout the night, conducting regular welfare checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families regarding care needs and any incidents.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, safeguarding policies, and duty of care requirements.
• Work independently while maintaining professional standards and best practices.
• Support clients with medication administration as per organizational guidelines and training.
• Identify and report any safeguarding concerns or potential risks immediately.
