Job summary

Devon County Council is seeking a Night Care Assistant to join our Adult & Community Services team at Pine Park House in Honiton. This permanent 18-hour-a-week night role involves providing personalised care, maintaining CQC standards, and supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to study for NVQ2 in Care or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic IT skills.
• Numeracy and literacy skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding.
• Previous experience in a care setting.
• Experience working with people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised care to service users based on their individual care plans.
• Ensure care and services meet Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
• Liaise with other professionals and agencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with CQC standards and DCC policies.
• Ensure the safety and security of the premises, staff, and service users.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Report any concerns to the line manager.
• Mentor new staff during their induction process.
• Participate in meetings and contribute as necessary.
• Assist with domestic tasks and catering duties.
• Attend to the personal needs of clients during the night, ensuring their well-being and dignity.
