Job summary

SSE plc is hiring an Overhead Linesperson within SSEN Transmission's Overhead Line Team. You will inspect, maintain and repair the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV overhead line network across the North East, Shetland, Tayside and Argyll.

Based in Perth or Dundee, this permanent full-time role involves standby duties, occasional week away with accommodation and meals, and updating the asset management platform with defect and repair records.

Qualifications

• Must have an industry recognised qualification for wood pole and steel tower access and rescue or proven experience on the electricity network.
• Qualification from a recognised overhead line training provider.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, maintenance and repair on 132kV, 275kV and 400kV lines.
• Occasionally work away from base during the week and at weekends with accommodation and meal allowance.
• Form part of a standby rota for fault response across the year.
• Update and record defect and repair activities on the asset management platform.
• Respond to emergency situations to investigate and carry out repairs as required.
