Job summary

SSEN Transmission is hiring an Overhead Linesperson to inspect, maintain and repair the 132kV–400kV network across the North East and surrounding areas. The role involves occasional travel away from base, standby duties year-round, and updating records in the asset system.

You should hold an industry overhead line qualification or proven experience, be comfortable at height, and work well in a team. Base locations include Perth or Dundee with a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Industry recognised qualification for wood pole and steel tower access and rescue or proven experience on the electricity network.
• Qualification from a recognised overhead line training provider.
• Experience in construction or maintenance of overhead power lines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, maintenance and repair activities on 132kV, 275kV and 400kV lines.
• Support construction and refurbishment projects and fault repairs on the overhead network.
• Work away from base during the week or weekends with accommodation and meal allowance.
• Part of a standby rota covering 365 days for fault response.
• Record defects and repairs in the asset management system and respond to emergencies.
