Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Associate Director Overhead Lines (OHL) to lead high-profile UK transmission projects across our Power & Energy portfolio. The role involves delivering 132kV-400kV OHL designs, managing multi-discipline teams and client reviews, and ensuring safety and quality across all design outputs.

You will drive technical workstreams, mentor engineers, and coordinate with stakeholders to align timelines, budgets and resources.

Qualifications

Minimum engineering degree with professional registration or nearing chartership.
Experience leading OHL design for 132kV-400kV projects in UK transmission settings.
Proven ability to manage multi-discipline teams and client interfaces.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications and design documents using PLS-CADD, AutoCAD and Microstation.
Oversee line routing, sag-tension, structure analysis and clearance reports.
Prepare proposals and reports detailing scope, timelines, budgets and resources.
Lead client design reviews and technical workshops with stakeholders.
Mentor a team of specialist design engineers on overhead transmission solutions.
Identify and manage project risks to ensure successful delivery.
Promote safety culture and ensure designs meet best practice and approvals.
Collaborate with resource manager to expand the OHL design team.
Improve design processes and ensure sustainability and environmental considerations.
