Job summary

OCU Group is seeking an experienced Overhead Lines Supervisor to lead on-site overhead line construction activities across major UK power projects. You will mentor delivery teams, ensure safe work practices, and drive high-quality delivery to deadlines.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of safe systems of work, risk assessments, and site safety requirements.
Experience leading field-based teams and coordinating multiple work activities.
Good understanding of electrical distribution or overhead line construction practices.
Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage site issues and make decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate day-to-day overhead line construction activities on site.
Brief teams on planned works, ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.
Monitor site performance for quality, programme, and safety standards.
Ensure teams have PPE, plant, tools and equipment to work safely.
Liaise with Senior Authorised Persons and stakeholders to coordinate outages and network needs.
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
Review project documentation, risk assessments and records for accuracy and compliance.
Coach and mentor operational teams to promote best practice and high standards.
Identify site issues and implement solutions to minimise disruption and keep progress.
Communicate project changes, risks and commercial events to teams and management.
