Job summary

1st Staff Limited is seeking caring, confident tutors to deliver 1:1 Maths and English sessions to students with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD and other learning needs. You will tailor lessons, track progress and build strong relationships with families.

Locations include students' homes, libraries, schools or community venues. Hours can be part-time or full-time, with PAYE and zero-hours contracts. Excellent pay up to £25 per hour with CPD and tutor support.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in teaching, tutoring or mentoring roles.
• Ability to support SEND/SEMH and challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication skills and patient, empathetic approach.
• Ability to adapt teaching to different learning styles.

1st Staff are a leading nationwide provider supporting children and young people aged 4-25 with additional educational and therapeutic needs.

We're looking for caring, confident tutors to deliver 1:1 Maths and English sessions to students with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD and other learning needs.

• Create engaging lesson plans tailored to each student
• Support learners with a range of needs and behaviours

• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and families

Role details

• Locations: Student's home, library, school or community venue
• Hours: Part‑time or full‑time (most referrals 10-15 hrs/week; full‑time available with multiple students)
• Contract: PAYE, zero‑hours
