Job summary

NHS Highland’s Learning Disability Service is seeking Outreach Social Care Support Workers to support vulnerable adults in their own homes and communities in Skye & Lochalsh. The role involves lone working, shifts including nights/weekends, and travel within the local area.

We value compassionate, motivated individuals with good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a wider health and social care team. SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality care and support within individuals’ own tenancies.
• Assist with daily living skills including personal care and meal preparation.
• Support people with medication and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
• Deliver outreach in the community to enable social engagement and leisure.
