Outreach Case Worker

Salary: £27,783

Location: West Midlands - Covering Burton, Tamworth, Cannock, and Coventry

Contract: Fixed term for 2 years

Rebuilding your life after a custodial sentence is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it's possible. We're looking for a dedicated Case Worker to join our team—someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organization, and flexibility. This role is for someone who understands that rehabilitation isn't just about offering advice; it's about actively supporting someone on their journey.

About the Role:

You will work from probation offices, providing one-to-one support to a caseload of participants as they reintegrate into society. As a key member of a dedicated team, you'll help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence, work towards training or employment, and make meaningful steps toward rehabilitation.

You will also be required to attend custodial settings to provide through-the-gate support to prisoners and encourage them to attend one of our CFO Activity Hubs for ongoing help.

This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role. You'll be working in a challenging environment with individuals who have complex needs and may be hesitant to engage. However, when you help someone break the cycle and take real steps toward transforming their life, the impact is truly life-changing—for them and for you.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Relationship Building: Foster genuine, trusting, and non-judgemental relationships with participants, creating a safe space for personal growth.
  • Signposting: Refer and encourage participation with Ingeus Hub services and other external support to support their rehabilitation.
  • Action Planning: Formulate detailed action plans, identifying specific needs and barriers, and support their transition.
  • Caseload Management: Manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while handling related admin.
  • Quality Recording: Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all work on our IT system, ensuring progress is tracked.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Communication Skills: Ability to engage, motivate, persuade, and listen—building strong connections.
  • Safeguarding Awareness: Ability to identify safeguarding risks when supporting complex individuals.
  • IT and Administrative Skills: Keep meticulous records to measure progress and ensure effective interventions.
  • Resilience: Stay committed and see things through despite challenges.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to various locations.
What We Offer:
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to trade for additional leave.
  • EAP Support programme, including 6 free counselling sessions.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
  • Up to 2 days of Community Giving annually.
  • Eyecare vouchers, exclusive discounts, Cycle to Work scheme, travel season ticket loan, and more.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced Level 1 DBS check. During the background check process, you'll have opportunities to shadow colleagues and learn at your own pace.
