We have an exciting opportunity for an Outreach and Support Worker within our Adult Autism Service, who will be based at Beech House, Macclesfield.

You will be working to support adults from the age of 16 or 18 years upwards (depending on locality) who are autistic or who are on the waiting list for an autism assessment.

This post will work directly in partnership with local autism hubs and relevant third sector partners (charities, community interest and not-for-profit organisations) to develop and deliver improved support in the community under the direction of qualified practitioners and provide follow-up support to bespoke interventions.

We would welcome applications from people with lived experience and will look to offer support with the application and recruitment process.

This is a part-time post for 22.5 hours a week (3 days).

Under guidance and support you will-

• Work under the direction of qualified practitioners providing follow-up support to bespoke interventions.
• Provide basic information, advice, guidance and training to other health professionals supporting autistic adults.
• Work to reduce the barriers faced by autistic adults when accessing mainstream services and encourage the knowledge base and skill set of other commissioned services in providing reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act.

You will work with colleagues, including lived experience advisors, to develop and maintain resources for autistic adults and adults referred for an assessment as well as health and social care staff.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) provides health and care services for a population of over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care, as well as the provision of three GP surgeries in Cheshire.
