Job summary

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time Band 3 Supervisor for the Outpatients department at Good Hope Hospital, Sutton. The role focuses on Trauma & Orthopaedics and Ophthalmology, supporting the team leader and managing staff development.

Qualifications

• Good General Education (GCSE English and Maths A-C)
• Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment
• Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service
• Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience of using IT systems
• Desirable: Experience of working in a busy environment/Healthcare

Responsibilities

• Provide daily support to the team leader
• Assist colleagues as directed by the team leader during busy periods
• Use initiative and judgement when dealing with enquiries
• Induct new staff and implement new working practices for smooth operations
• Input electronic data using Trust IT systems
• Create documents/spreadsheets/reports using IT systems
• Handle telephone enquiries and monitor shared inboxes
• Monitor PBWLs and appointments
