Centralised Recruitment

We have adopted a centralised hiring process for administration roles in bands 2-3 and 4-5. This means you apply once and are considered for multiple positions within our organisation, saving time for both candidates and managers while accessing a broader talent pool.

This week, we are currently recruiting for the following Bands 4 and 5 roles across the organisation:

  • Outpatients Booking Officer (Band 4) - 37.5 hours per week, Permanent, Location: John Radcliffe Hospital

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure accurate and comprehensive patient records and clinical details, including outpatient referrals, are added onto EPR in a timely manner, according to agreed standards (the Trust’s Elective Access Policy and Data Quality).
  2. Book appointments on EPR as per Trust procedures, ensuring referrals are clinically triaged within 48 hours.
  3. Ensure patients on ERS (Electronic Referral System) are given appointment dates based on clinical priority and wait times, and manage patients on the ASI list accordingly.
  4. Take appropriate action following patient and hospital cancellations to maximize elective capacity utilization.
  5. Verify that the 18-week RTT pathway is correct on EPR before making changes.
  6. Proactively monitor outpatient clinics and highlight capacity issues or potential breaches, supporting the Outpatient Booking Team Leader.
  7. Manage designated patient tracking lists (PTL) and attend weekly PTL meetings.
  8. Accurately record clinician annual leave and outpatient session changes on EPR, proactively maintaining outpatient schedules to meet waiting times and capacity targets.
  9. Lead efforts to resolve clinic cancellations by liaising with colleagues and arranging cover or alternative clinics.
  10. Develop an understanding of the Trust’s Elective Access Policy and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
