Job summary
The Blenheim Head & Neck Outpatient Department at the Churchill Hospital runs clinics for a variety of specialties.
To manage, communicate with, and lead a team of nursing staff, consisting of Registered nurses, nursing assistants, AHPs, and technicians to deliver high standards of care within Outpatients.
To manage, communicate with, and lead the nursing team and oversee the day-to-day management of it.
To manage service needs within the department related to Government and Trust initiatives, ensuring targets are defined, met, and continued.
To proactively manage the Outpatients Department, ensuring staff, service needs, trust, and unit targets are met.
To manage a defined budget.
Main duties of the jobTo be responsible for outpatient staff, adhering to related Trust policies.
Ensure the patient's journey is as smooth as possible, addressing the complex needs of individual patients and multiple services within the department. Resolve patient complaints, maintain confidentiality, and ensure sensitive information is managed and communicated appropriately by working closely with: Clinical Lead, consultants, doctors, AHPs, GPs, other managers/departments, community/primary care staff, Directorate service managers, and specialty teams.

Clinical:
Maintain broad awareness of all clinical input in the department, developing skills and teams for each area to ensure a safe and secure pathway for patients attending Outpatients. Ensure staff are trained to use equipment safely for patient manoeuvres and transfers.
