Job summary

Intermountain Health's St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado, is launching a new outpatient pharmacy.

As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will support daily operations, help establish workflows, coordinate medication access, and assist patients throughout their care. You will work closely with pharmacists and technicians to prepare prescriptions and ensure safety and efficiency in a growing program.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent is required.
• Current pharmacy technician certification and/or license applicable to state of practice.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy and controlled substances.
• Disciplinary action may result from lapses or failures to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining records.
• Prepares medication orders, performs calculations, and compounds medications when appropriate.
• Seeks supervision and verification from pharmacists as required by policy.
• Maintains medication supplies and secures controlled substances inventories.
• Communicates with caregivers and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives.
