Spire Little Aston Hospital is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the Outpatients department on a full-time contract. You will work across a warm, friendly team with shifts Monday-Saturday and a flexible day pattern.

The role supports nurses in outpatient clinics, maintains patient records, and assists with appointments and documentation while upholding confidentiality and safeguarding principles.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a clinical setting (ideally outpatients/clinics) is essential.
• Phlebotomy training and wound care experience are highly desirable for this role.
• As an HCA, you will provide Healthcare Support to our Clinical Team to ensure patients receive personal care.
• System literacy is essential and accuracy is important.
• A multidisciplinary team environment and safeguarding knowledge are required.

Healthcare Assistant | Outpatients |Little Aston | Full time | Permanent | Excellent benefits

Spire Little Aston Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join the Outpatient department on a full time contract. You will join a warm, friendly and supportive team working shifts across Monday-Saturday.

The department is open from 7:30am – 9pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 2pm on a Saturday. You have the option to work long (12hrs) or shorter days (7.5 hrs) but flexibility to be able to cover all days is required.

The hospital has an exceptional reputation within a variety of specialties including Orthopaedics, Sports & Exercise Medicine, Cosmetics, Ophthalmic, Gynaecology, General Surgery & Physiotherapy.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting nurses with outpatient clinics.
• As an HCA, duties will include routine tasks related to the delivery of care to ensure our patient’s health and well-being.
• Updating patient records accurately.
• Ensuring medical questionnaires and documentation are completed.
• Booking appointments or coordinating further tests when required.
• Maintaining confidentiality and following data protection procedures.
• Supporting patients who may be anxious about surgery.

Who we're looking for:

• System literacy is essential
• Must be accurate and have a strong desire for attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic clinical skills and knowledge of patient care.
• Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
