Job summary

North Tyneside Council is seeking individuals to join our waste collection team in North Tyneside. The role involves collecting waste and recyclables from businesses, schools and homes and disposing of them at appropriate sites, following health and safety procedures.

We offer 37-hour contracts, with both permanent and fixed-term posts. You will need good communication, teamwork and a proactive approach to safety and service delivery in our frontline environmental services.

Qualifications

• Must be able to walk for long periods and perform lifting and handling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, solution-focused, and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recyclables from businesses, schools and residents across North Tyneside.
• Ensure waste is disposed of at appropriate locations following procedures.
