Job summary

Flexzo Teach in Cambridge is seeking a Session Leader for outdoor-based learning roles with schools via a direct booking platform. You will deliver lessons using nature, employ animal-assisted sessions, and apply trauma-informed approaches to support SEMH needs.

This role offers flexible bookings, control over your schedule and rates, and the chance to make a tangible impact in education.

Qualifications

• QTS, HLTA or equivalent qualification.
• Min 2 years experience with SEMH or SEND in AP/PRU settings.
• Experience in outdoor learning environments with therapeutic animals.
• Experience in positive behavior management and de-escalation frameworks (Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication, resilience, and emotional intelligence for outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and adapt pre-planned lessons using nature, open spaces, and outdoor classrooms.
• Utilize therapeutic and domestic animals to promote emotional regulation and engagement.
• Apply trauma-informed strategies to support SEMH needs in outdoor settings.
• Recognize behavioral triggers and use positive handling and de-escalation safely.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and animal/outdoor specialists to adapt resources and track progress.
• Monitor student engagement, emotional well-being, and academic progress, contributing to EHCPs.
