Job summary

Biffa Dulcote HWRC is recruiting a Site Operative to help run a busy recycling centre safely and efficiently. You’ll work outdoors with the public, ensuring waste is correctly segregated for recycling and that site rules are followed.

As part of the team you’ll keep the site clean and well organised, provide friendly customer service, manage waste flow, and support safe, daily operations. Weekend working is required, with rest days allocated during the week.

Qualifications

• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable working directly with members of the public.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and use your own initiative.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the recycling centre.
• Assist and advise members of the public with the safe disposal and segregation of their waste.
• Help maximise recycling by ensuring waste is correctly sorted and segregated.
• Direct and control site traffic to ensure the safe movement of vehicles and site users.
• Monitor waste entering the site to ensure it complies with site licence requirements.
