Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is hiring an HWRC Operative for the Lingerton Site in Lochgilphead. The role focuses on providing a quality and safe visitor experience while maximising recycling and diversion.

You will work in a small team, operate the HWRC daily, assist at the weighbridge during busy periods, and perform general site duties to keep the site safe and tidy. The shift pattern is 10 on, 4 off and salary is £26,852 per year.

Responsibilities

• Assist users of the site in segregating materials in line with the Site Working Plan and Safe Operating Procedures, to maximise recycling and landfill diversion.
• Working in a small team, being totally focused on giving the customers who attend site a quality and safe experience
• Operation of the HWRC on a daily basis and providing support to the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing transactions during busy periods or periods of staff leave
• Undertake general site work/duties which include housekeeping, maintenance of skips and containers, litter/paper picking and generally keeping the site safe and tidy
• Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post
• Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out Environmental inspections and assist in closing out corrective actions
• Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, health & safety, environmental, and quality systems
• Provide similar support at other sites within the region as required.
