Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking a practical Ranger / Volunteer Coordinator to support the Rights of Way network across Warwickshire. The role involves hands-on maintenance, supervising volunteers and coordinating works on footpaths, bridleways and other public rights of way.

Based at Budbrooke Depot, you will collaborate with partners to deliver improvements on the ground. You will need to be practical, reliable and comfortable outdoors, with strong organisational and communication

Qualifications

• Practical, reliable and able to work outdoors in hands-on environments.
• Well organised, safety-conscious and able to motivate volunteers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to guide volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
• Capable of planning and supervising minor construction or maintenance works.
• Experience with power tools and relevant certifications is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out practical works to open, maintain and improve public rights of way.
• Plan, programme and supervise work undertaken by volunteer groups.
• Provide on-site training and supervision to volunteers, including safe use of tools.
