Job summary

Warwickshire County Council seeks an experienced Operations Manager to lead the delivery of five country parks, three greenways and two nature reserves. You will supervise ranger teams, drive high standards, ensure safety and deliver an engaging visitor experience across a diverse outdoor estate.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will balance day-to-day operations with service improvements, build strong partner relations and shape how the service evolves to benefit communities and wildlife

Qualifications

• Strong operational leadership experience in public-facing, outdoor, environmental or estates services.
• Proven track record leading managers and dispersed, shift-based or multi-site teams.
• Sound judgement and practical approach to health and safety, service quality and customer experience.
• Ability to build positive relationships, manage competing priorities and raise standards on the ground.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop teams across five country parks, three greenways and two nature reserves.
• Support Senior Rangers to manage resilient, customer-focused teams with shift patterns.
• Provide clear operational leadership, set expectations and maintain consistent standards across sites.
• Own health and safety, promoting a positive culture and protecting visitors and staff.
• Oversee site management, maintenance and presentation to keep spaces welcoming and accessible.
