Job summary

Maldon District Council is seeking a Parks & Countryside Officer (Level 2) to join the Countryside & Coast Team in Maldon. This full-time role delivers grounds maintenance across 25 parks and open spaces, including Promenade Park and Riverside Park, with weekend and bank holiday rota coverage.

You will hold two or more competency certificates (PA1/PA6, chainsaw, ride-on mower, etc.), have a full UK driving licence, and be prepared for shift variation and annualised hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor grounds maintenance and operating basic machinery.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport is essential.
• Two or more competency certificates in landscaping tools or plant care are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grounds maintenance across 25 parks and open spaces.
• Operate groundcare machinery and perform basic vehicle maintenance.
• Work weekend/bank holidays on a rota and provide out of hours cover.
• Support in maintaining sport pitches and seasonal planting.
