Job summary

Gi Group is hiring Meter Readers to join our outdoor field team. Earn £13.97 per hour with 40–45 weekly hours and flexible start times Monday to Friday (occasional Saturdays) between 8am and 8pm.

Average annual earnings range from £28,000 to £30,000, with a bonus scheme up to £1,000 monthly and overtime rates at the manager's discretion. No prior experience required; full training provided, company car available, 28 days holiday pro rata, and pension enrollment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid UK manual driving licence with 1 year minimum, up to 6 points and no DR offences.
• Physically fit with ability to bend, lift, kneel and walk 4–5 miles a day.
• Clear DBS check with no unspent convictions.
• Credit report check showing no county court judgments, IVA or debt relief orders in last 6 years.
• Five years of employment history.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial and industrial sites for water, gas and electric meters with full training provided.
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys.
• Drive to work independently and manage your schedule.
• Maintain a friendly, professional approach while adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
