Job summary

Wyre Borough Council is seeking a Gardener to help maintain parks, open spaces and cemeteries to high standards across the borough. This hands-on role involves day-to-day upkeep as part of a dedicated team, delivering a safe, attractive and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

You will operate a range of grounds maintenance equipment, from hand tools to ride-on mowers, and contribute to a positive health and safety culture while providing a professional, uniformed presence on site.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining parks, open spaces or similar environments.
• Ability to deliver good customer care.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Physically able to undertake the duties of the role.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and Council values.
• Reliable and able to demonstrate a consistent standard of service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parks, open spaces, cemeteries and landscaped areas to agreed standards.
• Use a range of grounds maintenance equipment including hand tools, portable appliances and ride-on mowers.
• Carry out general horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks across the borough.
• Provide a uniformed, professional presence while undertaking duties.
• Work effectively as part of a team to meet service standards.
• Support safe working practices and contribute to a positive health and safety culture.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
