Job summary

Catering is seeking a passionate Forest School Leader to deliver outdoor learning at a primary school in Penwortham, Preston, starting September 2026 to inspire children.

You will plan nature-based activities, supervise sessions, conduct risk assessments, and communicate with parents and staff to support children's development. This is a paid, in-person contract in Preston, Lancashire, with daily rates between £150 and £250.

Qualifications

• Proven management and leadership skills in classroom or outdoor settings.
• Experience working with children in primary school environments.
• Forest School Accreditation required.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments for outdoor activities.
• Excellent organizational skills for planning activities and routines.
• Valid driving license for transporting equipment or excursions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver outdoor learning activities tailored to children's developmental needs.
• Supervise children during forest school sessions, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
• Maintain clear communication with parents, colleagues, and external partners regarding progress and needs.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols for all outdoor activities.
• Manage day-to-day operations of forest school sessions, including equipment setup and resources.
