Job summary

Southwark Council is seeking an experienced Events professional to help plan and deliver outdoor events across the borough, with a focus on large-scale commercial activities. The role involves ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety, and working with partners to achieve successful events.

You will coordinate community engagement, manage budgets, and help drive continuous improvement of the Events Service, representing the council in external meetings and Safety Advisory Group

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale outdoor or commercial events in urban environments.
• Ability to navigate licensing and health and safety requirements.
• Strong stakeholder, client and partner management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement, planning and delivery of outdoor events across the borough.
• Monitor compliance with policies, health and safety, and best practice.
• Act as main contact for event organisers, contractors and partners.
• Coordinate public consultation processes for major events.
• Monitor event performance and analyze feedback for improvement.
• Track payments and support financial management.
• Contribute to developing and innovating the Events Service offering.
• Represent the service at external meetings and SAG process.
