Waste Investigations Support & Enforcement (WISE) is hiring Environmental Enforcement Officers in the Broxtowe area. The role involves front-line foot patrols, identifying environmental offences and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to the public.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills and a confident, professional manner.
• Resilience and the ability to handle challenging conversations calmly.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Basic IT skills (report writing).
• Reliable, proactive and detail-focused.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• A driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Starting your day by heading out on foot patrol across busy town centres, high-footfall areas and residential streets.
• Observing public behaviour and identifying offences such as littering, dog fouling and fly-tipping.
• Approaching offenders confidently and professionally to explain the offence and issue Fixed Penalty Notices.
• Educating members of the public on their environmental responsibilities.
• Accurately recording evidence, statements and reports using provided systems.
• Working independently while remaining supported by a wider enforcement team and management.
