Job summary

William Henry Smith School is seeking an Outdoor Education Coordinator to co-ordinate, develop and deliver a creative outdoor learning and enrichment programme connecting children and young adults with nature. The role supports inclusive access to meaningful experiences that build confidence, resilience and wellbeing.

You will work with education, therapy, pastoral and family support teams to provide personalised enrichment and life skills development, promoting belonging and positive behaviour

Qualifications

• Passion for outdoor learning and enabling safe, meaningful experiences.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver outdoor learning sessions across school.
• Develop the outdoor learning philosophy and ethos across the school.
• Use site facilities to develop outdoor learning as a learning environment.
• Lead groups of students with SEMH difficulties and coordinate staff involved.
• Collaborate with teaching, therapy, pastoral, residential and family support teams.
• Organise holiday experiences and other outdoor learning events.
• Manage outdoor learning equipment, tools and clothing.
• Carry out and maintain risk assessments.
• Supervise visits, trips and out-of-school activities as required.
• Contribute to a programme of Outdoor Education.
