Job summary

Kedleston Group Limited seeks an enthusiastic Outdoor Education Teacher/Instructor to lead the development of the Outdoor Education offer at Mill School Bury. You will plan engaging lessons for KS2–KS3 with KS4 options, deliver safe outdoor activities, and promote a culture of learning through outdoor experiences.

You will oversee staff in outdoor education and horticulture, contribute to training, plan assessments, and work with parents and carers to support pupil progress and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare short, medium and long term outdoor education lessons.
• Deliver safe, impactful lessons to KS2/KS3 pupils with KS4 options, often in outdoor environments.
• Develop cross-curricular plans integrating outdoor education.
• Supervise TAs/HLTAs and other staff within outdoor education and horticulture, promoting safety.
• Attend school events and engage with pupils and parents/carers.
• Develop and monitor training and qualifications for staff in outdoor education.
• Create and maintain records for equipment, training and staff qualifications.
• Write and review risk assessments and operating procedures for adventurous activities.
