Job summary

Kent County Council is hiring a Team Manager for the Out of Hours Kent Intake Unit. The role leads social workers responding to urgent cases, coordinating with police, health and Home Office to ensure safe, timely support for unaccompanied children.

This customer-facing post requires a social work degree, registration with Social Work England, and a driving licence. It offers flexible hours within a 37-hour rota and a market premium for unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, CQSW/DipSW or equivalent and registered with Social Work England.
• Experience leading a team of social workers and relief staff.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Experience with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership and professional support to social workers in out-of-hours responses.
• Coordinate actions with police, health, Home Office and local authorities.
• Lead a small team of staff and contribute to wider OOH service management.
• Work 37 hours per week across a rota.
