SSE plc is seeking a senior OT engineer to support the DERMS and Enabling Systems pillar, ensuring operational technology systems remain secure, resilient and highly available across live and pre-production environments.
You will provide day-to-day leadership for the OT support team, drive cyber security activities, govern assets and standards, and coordinate incident readiness and response with cross-functional teams to achieve 99.999% system availability.
Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations : Portsmouth or Perth
Salary: £51,600 - £77,400 + performance-related bonus and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

This role will work within our DERMS & Enabling Systems Pillar within OT. The role is responsible for the operational support, maintenance and resilience of Operational Technology (OT) systems supporting Control Room operations, ensuring resilient, high-availability services and an effective response to faults and incidents. They will provide leadership in the development of OT Apprentices, Graduates and Technicians, building capability and succession within the team. The role also oversees capacity planning and controlled access to Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments across live and pre-production systems, ensuring appropriate governance and resource alignment. Acting as responsible person for the Central and local Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) and other key operational platforms, the role is accountable for ensuring system reliability, resilience and security, delivering and sustaining a target of 99.999% availability.
