Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Platform Engineer - OT Security to join SSE Thermal’s OT Security Value Stream. The role supports secure delivery, operation and continual improvement of technology platforms across generation, storage and network operations.

You will work across Operational Technology, cyber security, cloud services and hybrid infrastructure to maintain secure, resilient platforms that support critical energy operations, while collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to deliver new

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, platform services or hybrid technology environments.
• Experience with Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, Hyper-V and Azure.
• Experience with security-focused services: vulnerability management, backup and recovery, identity services.
• Ability to use scripting/DevOps tools to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Strong collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Support operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of IT and OT platforms.
• Administer and support hybrid infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Support security operations: remediation, access controls, monitoring and hardening.
• Develop automation and scripting to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and project stakeholders to deliver new capabilities.
