Job summary

SSE plc seeks a Platform Engineer - OT Security to support secure delivery and operation of technology platforms across SSE Thermal's generation, storage and network ops. You will work across OT, cyber security, cloud services and hybrid infrastructure to keep platforms secure, resilient and reliable.

The role involves operating IT/OT platforms, automating processes and collaborating with teams and suppliers to deliver new capabilities while maintaining lifecycle management of existing services.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and hybrid environments across server, virtualization, cloud and networking.
• Strong troubleshooting for Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, Hyper-V and Azure.
• Experience with security operations, vulnerability management, backup and recovery, identity services and monitoring.
• Proficient in scripting or DevOps tooling (PowerShell, Bash, Azure DevOps) to automate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of IT and OT platforms to stay secure and available.
• Administer hybrid infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments (virtualisation, identity, networking).
• Assist security operations: remediation, access controls, monitoring and platform hardening.
• Develop automation and processes to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and projects to deliver new capabilities and manage lifecycle.
