Job summary

SSE is seeking a Platform Engineer - OT Security to join the OT Security Value Stream and support secure delivery, operation and continual improvement of technology platforms across SSE Thermal's generation, storage and network operations.

This role provides exposure to OT, cyber security, cloud services and hybrid infrastructure, helping to maintain secure, resilient platforms that underpin critical energy operations.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, platform services or hybrid environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, Hyper-V, Azure, storage, networking and firewall technologies.
• Experience in security operations such as vulnerability management, backup/recovery, identity services, privileged access management, monitoring or endpoint security.

Responsibilities

• Support the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of IT and OT platforms, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and available.
• Administer and support hybrid infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments, including virtualization, identity, networking and platform services.
• Support security operations activities, including vulnerability remediation, access controls, monitoring, platform hardening and service assurance.
• Develop automation, scripting and process improvements to increase platform reliability, operational efficiency and user experience.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers and project stakeholders to deliver new capabilities and support lifecycle management of existing services.
