Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Platform Engineer - OT Security to join the OT Security Value Stream. You will help deliver, operate and continually improve technology platforms across SSE Thermal's generation, storage and network operations.

The role spans OT, cyber security, cloud services and hybrid infrastructure to maintain secure, resilient platforms supporting critical energy operations. A flexible, permanent, full-time role with a base in Inverness or other SSE locations is offered.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, platform services or hybrid technology environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Hyper-V, Azure and storage/networking.
• Experience with vulnerability management, backup, identity services and security monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of IT and OT platforms to stay secure and available.
• Administer and support hybrid infrastructure services across on-premises and cloud environments including virtualization, identity, networking and platform services.
• Support security operations activities such as vulnerability remediation, access controls, monitoring, platform hardening and service assurance.
• Develop automation, scripting and processes to improve platform reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and project stakeholders to deliver new capabilities and support lifecycle management of services.
