Job summary

Réalta Technologies is seeking an experienced OT Automation Engineer to support a Medical Device client in Blackpool, UK. The role requires 5+ years in automation, strong PLC/SCADA expertise (Allen Bradley preferred), and leadership to manage a small team.

You will ensure seamless integration with MES and PI, oversee IT infrastructure for automation, and contribute to Industry 4.0 initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, with strong expertise in manufacturing equipment, PLC (preferably Allen Bradley), and IT systems. This role requires a technical leader who can also manage a small team, ensuring seamless integration of automation systems with higher-level plant systems like MES and PI.

Key Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming (Allen Bradley preferred).
• Familiarity with a range of manufacturing equipment and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency in IT systems and networking, including cybersecurity considerations.
• Experience integrating automation systems with MES, PI, or other higher-level plant systems.
• Minimum 1-2 years of leadership experience, managing a small team.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
