Zusammenfassung

Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is seeking an open-source researcher to investigate how gender norms and identity can be weaponised to escalate conflicts in the MENA region. You will conduct narrative and network analyses, apply OSINT/SOCMINT methods, and contribute to evidence-based reports for accountability and advocacy.

The role is remote with full-time hours (19–20 days per month) under a contractor arrangement.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience with OSINT and SOCMINT tools and techniques.
• Expertise in monitoring ethnic, religious and gendered hate speech.
• Expertise in narrative tracking and social media research techniques.
• Proven experience with the development of GESI framework and lexicons.
• Ability to write short- and long-form reports using concise, clear and accurate language.
• Flexibility and capacity to adapt to fast-paced changing environments.
• Proactivity and willingness to collaborate with CIR project team and wider CIR.

Aufgaben

• Employ OSINT and SOCMINT tools to conduct research into the MENA information environment.
• Use SOCMINT tools to conduct audience analysis and gather audience insight.
• Analyse and document evidence of ethnic, religious and gendered hate speech, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and other violations of platform terms and conditions and standards.
• Contribute to CIR investigations into how gender and identity are exploited on social media in ongoing conflicts in MENA.
• Input information into the project databases and code data to pre-set information fields; ensure data is preserved and archived.
• Work with investigators to analyze data from multiple sources and create analytical reports on gendered hate speech and narratives.
• Support the design and production of high-quality reports that explain insights and the evidence and methodology.
