Job summary

The Centre for Information Resilience (CIR) is seeking an Open-Source Data Collection and Verification Analyst to join a team investigating war crimes and human rights abuses related to Ukraine. The role focuses on gathering, verifying, and archiving open-source material from social media, messaging apps, and other sources to support investigations and public reporting.

You will build structured evidence datasets, work with CIR’s Data and Technology Team, and help train colleagues in OSINT best

Qualifications

• OSINT collection, verification and archiving experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to translate technical terms for non-specialists.
• Experience with digital evidence handling, e-discovery, or related practices is a plus.
• Working proficiency in Ukrainian and/or Russian languages is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Collect, verify, and archive large volumes of open-source material (social media, messaging content, videos, images, satellite imagery).
• Apply OSINT verification techniques (geolocation, chronolocation, metadata analysis, source evaluation).
• Structure, tag, and catalogue material in evidence databases for retrieval and long-term preservation.
• Collaborate with investigators, analysts, and CIR’s Data and Technology Team to support investigative and public reporting needs.
• Deliver training and mentoring on OSINT best practices for evidence collection and archiving.
• Uphold CIR’s ethical, safe, and secure investigative standards and safeguarding requirements.
